Breed: Rat Terrier
Sex : Female
Age: 5 Months
Size: 15 lbs.
Winkie has come a long way from the 3 pound pup who
underwent emergency eye surgery at 5 weeks old. After
her owners fed her too close to another dog (her father),
her eye was "bit out" as the owners explained.
They had no money to treat the pup that they had intentionally
bred, and instead, placed her in a crate for an excruciating
36 hours before calling AAL for help. Help arrived on
the spot, and she has recovered fantastically. Although
the eye could not be saved, nothing could halt this
rambuncious puppys spirit. She is always looking for
a toy, a good tug of war game, or busy chasing one of
the other dogs at AAL (usually Chili Dog). The only
thing that could make Winkie happier than she already
is would be a family of her own.
