Breed: Schipperke Lab mix
Sex: Female
Age: 1- Yrs.
Size: Medium
Sadie is a 32 pound (she was only 20 lbs when she came
to AALOC) Schipperke-Lab mix who showed up at the Orange
County shelter with all the skin on her back paws missing
as if it had been burned off. Doomed to die in the shelter
if AALOC had not stepped in to rescue her. the AALOC
veterinarian also discovered that all of the toes on
one foot were broken. Sadie's treatment is complicated
by the fact that in order to set the bones, her foot
needs to be immobilized, but the veterinarian cannot
immobilize a foot without skin because the bandages
need to be changed often to protect the flesh. Sadie
now has an advanced case of Vasculitis (blood clotting
in her legs) which has caused poor circulation, loss
of feeling and lesions. Sadly, she has to have her feet
bandaged, her e-collar on and crated the majority of
of the time for healing. This could be genetic or inflicted
by something or someone...no one knows.. Sadie can't
tell us what happened to her. She comes with her own
story or either neglect or abuse, but while her body
still heals, her spirit has forgotten the past and she
is a happy, playful. pup. Sadie is in a foster home.
