Cassie came to AALOC as a shy, timid shepherd mix who hadn't been out much since her owner worked long hours, gone for several days at a time. With another dog in the yard as her only friend, the dogs got into trouble when the owner failed to repair holes in the fence which allowed her to escape several times. Cassie has a "Dog Buddy" through our volunteer program, and is taken out weekly for "outings." She has come around remarkably, and is eager now to give a kiss and a tail wag when she is greeted. She is a great companion, who loves walks and car rides, and will bond to someone deeply.
