Doug
Breed: Poodle
Sex: Male
Age: 6
Size: 17 lbs.

Some just have it harder than all the rest. Doug loved his owner, and missed her terribly when she went into the hospital and never came home. He spent the next year, alone in their mobile home, waiting each day for her to come back and take him for his walks, hold him, make him the special treats he always loved. And for a whole year, it didn't happen. Relatives came by each day to feed him and take him out, but then they'd leave, and he'd be alone again.

AAL rescued Doug from his lonely conditions, and as adorable as he is, he is not without the scars. He is very cautious with strangers, and needs time to accept someone new. AAL hired a behaviorist to help Doug adapt, and small steps have been made. Doug yearns for attention but his fear keeps him from having the one thing he wants again...the love of a very special, understanding soul. An adult only, no other pets home needed.
